CERAMICS IN MISSILE MANUFACTURE

Technologiya shows its radome product line.

Obninsk Research and Production Enterprise (full name: Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Obninsk Research and Production Enterprise "Technologiya" State Research Centre Of Russian Federation) demonstrate on the High Technology of XXI - International Exhibition (Moscow, Russia, April 18-22, 2005) products for missile technology.

Technologiya there is conducting Russian developer and the manufacturer radiotransparent nose cones and air intake for the missiles made of fiberglass, quartz and glass ceramics. The Enterprise works on given themes more than 30 years.

Technologiya has developed components for many tactical missiles and SAM. Now following products are delivered. Fiberglass nose cone of the Kh-35 missile (height 500 mm, diameter 500 mm, weight 2 kg) with angular errors in a given frequency band no more than 15 minutes, radioparency in a given frequency band no less than 85%. It is made from fiberglass EDT-10kv. For this missile the enterprise makes air intake. Provides reduction of effective dissipation surface by 70%. Also from fiberglass is made radioparent nose cone for the Kh-31A missile (length 700 mm, diameter 300 mm, angular errors in a given frequency band no more than 15 minutes, radioparency in a given frequency band no less than 75%).

On base quartz ceramics produced radioparent nose cone for the 9M82 missile of the S-300V air defence system (length 1000 mm, diameter 400 mm, angular errors in a given frequency band no more than 15 minutes, radioparency in a given frequency band no less than 85%), nose cone for the 48N6 missile of the S-300PM air defence system (length 1200 mm, diameter 420 mm, radioparency in a given frequency band no less than 75%), nose cone for 3M-54 and 3M-14 missiles.

From glass ceramics is serial produced (including on export) nose cone for the RVV-AE.

Technologiya makes other products: radioparent windows and portholes, missile nose inserts for air defence and anti-missile systems; silicate glass glazing and organic glass glazing for aviation; glazing for space vehicles; optical elements for lighting the scales of aircraft and other instruments; glasses for liquid level indicators and observation ports; glass ceramics for laser gyroscopes.
