RADUGA IS DEVELOPING A NEW LIGHTWEIGHT ANTI-SHIP MISSILE FOR USE ON SMALL NAVAL CRAFT

New armament system for patrol boats Project 14310 Mirage was shown during the Exhibition of Land Forces military equipment IDELF-2004 in Moscow on 7-10 September. The system's key element is a new lightweight antiship missile developed by Raduga design bureau of Dubna near Moscow. Neither designation nor data of the missile have been given except the launching weight equal to 160 kg. Approximate length of the missile is 3 m, diameter – 25 cm. The missile equipped with active radar seeker can be used against sea surface and shore targets at the distance of up to 40 km.

The missile has conventional aerodynamic configuration with cruciform wings and empennage. The wings and control planes are of folding type. The missile is launched from box-type container with use of small take-off booster.

Mirage patrol boat carries four missiles fitted in two double containers. Apart of the missiles, the boat is armed with 57-mm A-220M gun. The boat's navigation and armament control system Naprik includes two radars (3-cm navigation radar and millimeter-wave navigation-aiming radar combined directly with the missile), electro-optical fire control device Palma-SU combined with the gun as well as navigation-aiming TV camera Lotsman.
